Wolves take down Minnesota State, secure postseason spot

Northern State avenged an earlier season setback to Minnesota State by grabbing a four-set victory in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference volleyball action Friday night.

The Wolves won by set scores of 25-23, 22-25, 25-22, 25-21 at Wachs Arena.

Northern secured a spot in the upcoming NSIC Tournament with the victory, moving into fifth place in the league standings.

Keri Walker finished with 51 set assists for the Wolves. Hanna Thompson and Natalia Szybinska each had 14 kills to power the Northern hitting.

The Wolves, 18-8 overall and 10-7 in the NSIC, host No. 14. Minnesota-Duluth in their final regular-season home match today at 2 p.m. Northern edged Duluth in five sets earlier this season.
