Balance powers NSU women to win over Bemidji

Northern State placed four players in double figure scoring and remained unbeaten in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with an 81-61 women’s basketball win over Bemidji State on Saturday night.

The Wolves bolted out to an early lead and shot 51 percent from the field on the way to the victory at Wachs Arena.

Madelyn Bragg scored 20 points, hauled down seven rebounds and blocked three shots, while Rianna Fillip contributed 19 points, five rebounds, nine assists and six steals for the Wolves.

Brylie Schultz added 11 points to the NSU total, and Decontee Smith followed with 10.

The Wolves are now 8-2 overall and 4-0 in the NSIC. They will wrap up the 2023 portion of their schedule at Minot State on Thursday and Minnesota Crookston on Saturday.
