REDFIELD – Trey Maaland finished with 38 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals to power Deuel to a 79-29 Northeast Conference boys’ basketball win over Redfield Thursday night.

Maaland’s point total is the highest since the Cardinals became known as Deuel, eclipsing the previous record of 36 set by Bryce Boyd in 1996-97. The Clear Lake record is 45 points set by Reginald Knight in the 1958-59 season. The all-time record for schools that comprise Deuel (Brandt, Clear Lake, and Gary) is 55 points by Royal Klemm of Brandt during the 1956-57 season.

Tristen O’Daniel and Justin Ratigan each scored 10 points for Redfield.
