Milbank captures NEC wrestling championship

MILBANK – The depth of Milbank helped the Bulldogs capture the team championship at the Northeast Conference Wrestling Tournament on Thursday. Milbank racked up 173 points, despite having just one individual champion. The Bulldogs had six runner-up finishes, two third-place finishes and a pair of fourth-place finishes. Sisseton ended up with four individual champs, while Redfield finished with three. Eight of the weight class winners remained undefeated on the season, led by Hamlin-Castlewood’s Brody Randall who improved to 10-0 at 113 pounds. Ian Metz of Sisseton (126) and Connor Zens of Redfield (132) both moved to 9-0, while Redfield’s Grady Fey (285) improved to 8-0.
