MOBRIDGE – Mobridge-Pollock used a balanced scoring attack to build an early lead en route to a 65-16 non-conference girls’ basketball win over Aberdeen Christian on Tuesday night.

The Tigers built a 15-3 lead in the opening quarter, thanks in part to aggressive defense, which led to transition baskets.

“Mobridge had a great game over us,” Knights coach Cristian Martinez said. “Their defense was really great and their transition game, it was great.”

Martinez said his team will need to continue to cut down on the number of turnovers it has each game.

“Turnovers are a big issue we’ve been having (since) last year,” Martinez said. “It’s a lot to work on.”

Reagan Weisbeck, Tegan Konold, Charley Henderson, and Faith Heil each had 10 points to lead Mobridge-Pollock (4-2). The Tigers will travel to Lakota Tech on Dec. 30.

Aberdeen Christian (0-4) was led by Chloe Bosma with eight points, while Chloe Holt had six points and Alicia Davis added two points.

The Knights will look to rebound after the Christmas break as they travel to Groton on Dec. 28. Martinez is hopeful that his team will continue to improve.

“Hopefully after this holiday break we can play better basketball,” Martinez said.
