Northern men fall to Minot State in overtime

MINOT, N.D. – Minot State held Northern State to just two free throws in overtime in a 77-72 men’s basketball victory Thursday night.

The Beavers never trailed in the extra session on the way to improving to 4-1 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference action and 8-2 overall.

Northern tailed 65-59 with 3:16 left in regulation before Jackson Moni caught fire. He scored the final 11 points of regulation for the Wolves, and also had the team’s two points in OT. He finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead NSU in both categories.

Michael Nhial added 18 points, and Josh Dilling contributed nine.

Northern, 5-6 on the season and 3-2 in the NSIC, plays at Minnesota Crookston on Saturday in its final game before the holiday break.
