
WAVERLY – Sam Appelhof threw a full-court pass to Cody Thompson who scored with 19 seconds left in overtime to help lift Waverly-South Shore to a 55-53 win over Britton-Hecla in Region 1B boys’ basketball action Tuesday night.
That basket gave the Coyotes a one-point lead. Thompson then made one of two free throws with 2.1 seconds remaining, before the Braves missed a three-point attempt at the buzzer.
Appelhof finished with a game-high 21 points, including a basket with 19 seconds left in regulation to force the overtime. Zach Ries added 18 points.
Ty Fagerland’s 16 points paced Britton-Hecla. Dawson Treeby contributed 10.
