BROOKINGS – The Brookings Rangers set the tone early on the way to a 10-0 boys’ hockey victory over the Aberdeen Cougars on Saturday.
The hosts scored five times in the opening period, and then added four more in the final period to fuel the win.
“We lost to a really good Brookings team,” said Cougars coach Jeremey Backous. “A bright spot is our backup goalie, Ben Bradley, came in for his first varsity minutes and played well.”
Bradley did not surrender a goal in 34 minutes of action in the net.
Owen Schneider powered the Brookings offense with four goals and three assists in the contest.
The Cougars are back in action when they play host to Oahe at 3 this afternoon at the Odde Ice Center.
