FREDERICK – Northwestern took a 15-point lead into the fourth quarter and held off a furious Leola-Frederick rally to claim a 49-47 win in Region 1B girls’ basketball action Thursday night.

Ana Ratigan scored 17 points to lead the Wildcats, who will take on unbeaten Harding County in SoDak 16 action Thursday in Timber Lake. Tara Blachford added 12 points.

Laura Sumption led all players with 26 points for Leola-Frederick. Sofia Losure contributed 10.
