SIOUX FALLS – A hot-shooting Sioux Falls Jefferson squad took advantage of a cold-shooting night for Aberdeen Central as the Cavaliers blitzed the Golden Eagles for a 65-34 victory Friday night.

Central, playing without the services of Brendan Phillips in Friday’s contest, could not find an offensive rhythm, shooting the ball at just a 30 percent clip in the season finale.

Jefferson, meanwhile, was hot from the start, building a double-digit lead by the end of the opening stanza and pulling away from there.

Camden Fauth and Cam Olson led the way for the Golden Eagles with eight points apiece. Jett Carlson had five rebounds to pace the Golden Eagles in that category.

Jefferson got 18 points from Dawson Sechser and 11 more from Damaris Fields. Braylon Bear had six rebounds.

Central will head into next week’s SoDak 16 matchups as the likely No. 14 seed and will most likely travel to No. 3 Brandon Valley for that state tournament qualifying game next Saturday.
