Wolves fall to Winona in opening round of NSIC tourney

WINONA, Minn. – The Northern State men’s basketball team had its season come to an end in a 95-65 setback to Winona State Wednesday night in the opening round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament.

The Warriors shot 54 percent from the field, including 58 percent from 3-point range, on the way to scoring a season-high total in points.

The Wolves scored the first five points of the game before Winona went on a 17-2 run for a lead it never lost. The Warriors led by 13 at the half before scoring 53 second-half points to put the game away.

Josh Dilling led Northern with 31 points, going 13 of 18 from the field, including 5 of 7 from deep. Jacksen Moni added 14 points and nine rebounds.

The Wolves finished the season with a 10-19 record.
