Area athletes win multiple events at Sno Bird meet

ESTELLINE – A half dozen area track and field athletes were involved in multiple victories during the Snow Bird meet on Thursday.

Warner’s Addisyn Heinrich won the 400-meter dash and also ran on the Monarchs first-place sprint medley relay squad.

Great Plains Lutheran had two athletes who had individual first place finishes. Halle Bauer won the 800-meter and 1,600-meter runs, while Katherine Prahl won the 100-meter and 300-meter intermediate hurdles.

Sadie Johnson of Estelline-Hendricks led all competitors with wins in the long jump, triple jump and pole vault.

On the boys’ side, Deuel’s Gabe Sather won the 110-meter high hurdles and the pole vault. Kaleb Foltz of Tri-State won the 1,600-meter run and was a member of the winning sprint medley relay team. Webster’s Jeron McCreary won the 300 hurdles, and also ran on the first place 1,600-meter relay squad.

Other area winners included Oliver Fieber of Deuel in the 100-meter dash, Matthew Mount of Webster in the shot put, Robert Begalka of Deuel in the discus, and Cristhian Rodriquez of Hamlin in the javelin for boys, and Jaycee Hourigan of Deuel in the 3,200-meter run for girls.
