Aberdeen Central continues to put together a solid spring in field events so far this spring. The Golden Eagles have athletes in the Class AA track and field leaders in eight different field events.
Tyler Bain and Brendan Phillips are both tied for fourth in the high jump with marks of 6 feet, 2 inches. Teammate Jack Bertsch is currently tied for eighth in the discus.
David VanVeen leads the Eagles on the track with the seventh best time in the 800-meter run, and the eighth-best time in the 3,200-meter run.
Central is fifth in the 3,200-meter relay, and eighth in the 1,600-meter relay.
On the girls’ side, Taryn Nieman recorded the second best mark in the discus earlier this week with a toss of 127 feet, 8 and 3/4 inches. Taryn Hermansen is third in the shot put, Madison Hochstetter is third in the triple jump, and is tied for fourth in the high jump along with teammate Ciara Frank, who is seventh in the long jump.

Central has three members among the top 100-meter hurdlers in AA. Frank is fifth, Mya Arampatzis is sixth, and Hochstetter is seventh in that event.
Meanwhile, Gracie Rife is seventh in the 100-meter dash, while the Golden Eagles are fifth in the 800-meter relay and sixth in the 400-meter relay.
