DELL RAPIDS – Dell Rapids swept Groton in completely different fashion in high school baseball action Monday night. The hosts walked off the Tigers 5-4 in the first game before collecting a 10-0 four-inning victory in the nightcap.

Jack Henry’s run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh gave Dell Rapids the win in the opener.

Groton had tied the game in the top of the sixth on an RBI single by Nicholas Morris.

Carter Simon led Groton with a pair of hits. Simon, Morris and Bradin Althoff each drove in runs for Groton.

Dillon Abeln had a solid effort on the mound for Groton, allowing just one earned run and striking out five before being relieved in the seventh inning.

Henry and Drake Eastman each had three hits in the second contest for Dell Rapids, which scored in every inning. Eastman and Cole Ruesink each drove in a pair.

Althoff had the lone hit for Groton, which hosts Elkton-Lake Benton and W-I-N on Sunday.
