Mobridge-Pollock athletes shine at home meet

MOBRIDGE – Mobridge-Pollock track and field athletes made the most of their home opener winning multiple events during the Mobridge-Pollock Early Bird meet on Thursday.

On the girls’ side, Heidi Olson won the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs for the Tigers, while teammates Ryli Thompson won the 200, and Faith Heil won the 800. Mobridge-Pollock also captured the girls’ 1,600-meter relay.

Mobridge-Pollock won five events in the boys’ division. Simon Fried won the long jump and 300-meter intermediate hurdles, Jackson Eisemann won the 100-meter dash, Carter Hinsz won the shot put, and Kellen Pfitzer won the discus.

Herreid-Selby Area placed three runners in the top four of the girls’ 100-meter dash, with Breanna Jochim winning the event. Teammates Brooklyn Helm and Stephanie Allbee placed second and fourth, respectively. Wolverines’ senior Mya Ebel won the discus.

Groton won the girls’ Sprint Medley Relay.
