Class B Leaders

There is a new number one team atop the Class B girls’ 1,600-meter relay this week. Potter County moved to the top spot after clocking a time of 4:08.64 last weekend. The Battlers are also second in the 3,200-meter relay, while Herreid-Selby Area has the top time in the 400-meter relay.

Other area number one leaders for girls include Ella Boekelheide of Northwestern who is first in the 800-meter run, and Ipswich’s Jalyssa Hutson who tops the pole vault.

There are a half dozen events led by area athletes in the boys’ division. Lincoln Woodring of Northwestern is first in the 800-meter run, Spencer Melius of Faulkton tops the javelin, Ipswich’s Trevor Heinz and Rasmus Locken lead the long jump and pole vault, respectively, and Ipswich has the fastest times in the 400-meter and 800-meter relays.

Other top five times and distances for area girls include Aberdeen Christian’s Shawnteah La Croix who is second in the long jump, and third in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash, Boekelheide who is second in the 1,600-meter run and 3,200-meter run, and fifth in the 400-meter dash, Marley Guthmiller of Ipswich who is tied for second in the pole vault, Olivia Olson of Sully Buttes who is third in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, Kayden Cronin of Potter County who is third in the triple jump, Madisyn Gellhaus of Ipswich who is third in the 1,600 and fourth in the 3,200, Breanna Jochim of Herried-Selby Area who is fourth in the 100, Morgan Sumption of Frederick who is fourth in the 3,200, Wolsey-Wessington’s Kailyn Dorris and Tatum Luce who are fourth in the javelin and tied for fifth in the high jump, respectively, Potter County’s Emma Schlachter and Dannika Kaup, who are fifth in the 800-meter run and 300-meter hurdles, respectively, and Emma Schneider of Hitchcock-Tulare, and Presley Knecht of Castlewood who are tied for fifth in the triple jump.

In the relays, Sunshine Bible is second in the 1,600, Herreid-Selby Area is third in the 800, Frederick is third and Potter County fourth in the sprint medley, and Aberdeen Christian is fifth in the 400.

Other top five times and distances for area boys include Hunter Cramer of Warner who is second in the 110 hurdles, Ty Boekelheide of Northwestern who is second in the triple jump, Camron Eng of Castlewood who is third in the 200, Leola’s Dustin Wurtz who is third in the shot put and fifth in the discus, Carter Luikens of Potter County who is fourth in the 400, Woodring who is fifth in the 1,600, Melius who is fifth in the 300 hurdles, and Lane Tvedt of Castlewood who is fifth in the long jump.

Top relays include Northwestern which is second in the sprint medley and fourth in the 3,200, Potter County which is fourth in the 400, and Sunshine Bible which is fifth in the 3,200.
