SISSETON – Claire Crawford of Aberdeen Roncalli continued her strong spring season winning another tournament on Thursday.
The sophomore shot an 88 to earn medalist honors by eight strokes during the Sisseton Invitational. It is her fourth tourney win on the season so far.
Madison won the team crown by 10 strokes over Roncalli.
“Again happy with how Claire played today,” said Cavaliers coach Jon Murdy. “Hope we can get the other five girls to realize they are that good, too. They all have the ability to play, just need to get the confidence in themselves to put it to work.”
Groton’s Carly Guthmiller was fourth with a 100. Morgan Helms of Roncalli was seventh with a 103, and Elliot Hortness of Sisseton finished ninth with a 104.
The teams will now head to Groton for back-to-back meets next week, a tourney on Monday and the Region 1A tournament on Thursday.
Team Points: Madison 397, Aberdeen Roncalli 407, Groton 450, Milbank 496. Incomplete: Sisseton.
