GROTON – Groton erased a four-run deficit with a pair of four-run innings to claim an 8-4 high school baseball win over Redfield Wednesday night.

The hosts broke a 4-4 tie in the bottom of the sixth on Colby Dunker’s bases-loaded triple. He then scored on a ground out for the final margin of difference.

Redfield had taken an early 4-0 lead when Elijah Morrissette had two-run doubles in both the first and second innings.

However, the Tigers knotted the score in the bottom of the second frame. Braxton Imrie drove in a run with a single, Dillon Abeln plated another with a bases-loaded walk, and Bradin Althoff tied the contest with a two-run single.

Imrie led Groton with three hits, while Althoff finished with two hits and two RBI.

Abeln and Jarrett Erdmann combined to strikeout 15 Redfield batters. Erdmann fanned six in two innings of relief work.
