Mobridge-Pollock sweeps Milbank in softball

MILBANK – Mobridge-Pollock used big innings to fuel a sweep over Milbank in softball action on Monday. The Tigers scored nine runs in the fifth inning of a 13-4 win, and had two six-run frames and a five-run inning in a 17-0 victory.

Sophia Overland had a big day at the plate for Mobridge-Pollock. She finished with five hits, drove in nine, and scored six times.

Overland had a two-run double, and Michelle Merkel had a two-run triple in the nine-run fifth in the first game. Elsy Larsen had four hits to lead the Tigers. Brooke Merkel had three hits, and Overland finished with two hits, four RBI, and three runs scored.

Addiysn Krause had three hits for the Bulldogs.

Amber Vetch and Mystic Erickson had two-run doubles in a six-run first, Overland a two-run single in a six-run third, and another two-run single in a five-run fourth for the Tigers in the second game.

Overland had three hits, five RBI, and scored three runs in that victory. Vetch and Erickson each drove in three.
