North Central sweeps team titles at home meet

EUREKA – The North Central Thunder won both team championships during the Eureka Lions Club track and field meet on Monday.

Three North Central boys each won two open events.

Raynor Sprague won the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, Gabe Johnson won the 1,600 and 3,200, and Timothy Rucker topped the fields in the high jump and triple jump.

On the girls’ side, Herreid-Selby Area’s Breanna Jochim had a role in four victories. She won the 100 and long jump, and ran on winning relays in the 400 and 800.

There were two other double open event winners: Ryli Thompson of Mobridge-Pollock won the 200 and 400, and Kaidence Bulgin won the 100-meter hurdles and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles.
