Berg places 17th in hammer throw at Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore. – Former Northern State track and field standout Tanner Berg finished 17th in the men’s hammer throw at the U.S. Olympic Trials on Friday night.

The Watertown native threw a distance of 71.21 meters and failed to make finals in the event. He ended up five positions out of a qualifying spot for the finals. The top throw in the competition on Friday was 77.08 meters.
