Groton walks off Lake Norden in eight innings

GROTON – Bradin Althoff delivered a two-out single in the bottom of the eighth inning as Groton walked off Lake Norden 6-5 in American Legion baseball action Friday night.

It was Groton’s second walk-off win in the past week.

Ryker Warrington had a two-run single in the top of the first as the visitors jumped out to a 3-0 lead.

Groton responded with four runs in the bottom of the second, three scoring on bases-loaded walks.

Lake Norden went back in front 5-4, before the hosts tied the score in the fifth, setting the stage for Althoff’s game-winner in the eighth.

Carter Simon and Braxton Imrie each scored a pair of runs for Groton.

Warrington and Aiden Abraham each had two hits for Lake Norden.
