GROTON – In a back-and-forth American Legion baseball contest, Colby Dunker delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning as Groton walked off Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern 5-4 Saturday night.

It marked the second time this year that Dunker has provided the game-winning walk-off hit against W-I-N. He did the same thing in a high school baseball game this spring on the same field.

Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern jumped in front with a run in the first inning, before Groton responded with two runs in the second.

The visitors tied the game with a run in the top of the fifth, and Groton answered with a run in the bottom half of the frame.

Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern jumped in front on a two-run single by Quinton Fischbach in the top of the seventh inning, before Dunker ended the game with his bases-loaded hit with none out in the bottom of the seventh.

Dunker and Brevin Fliehs each had a pair of hits for Groton. Ryan Groeblinghoff struck out 11 batters.

Fischbach and Samuel Vetter both had two hits for W-I-N. Fischbach also drove in three runs.
