Redfield defeats Lake Norden in battle of rated amateur squads

LAKE NORDEN – Redfield Dairy Queen used three four-run innings to fuel 12-2 victory over the Lake Norden Lakers in a matchup of rated Class B Amateur baseball teams Friday night.

Redfield, which is rated ninth, improved to 9-0 on the season with the victory over fifth-rated Lake Norden.

Dairy Queen scored four runs in each of the second, fifth and ninth innings.

Bennett Osborn had a two-run double in the second, Nolan Gall had an RBI single and Nathan Hainy a sacrifice fly in the fifth, and Christian DeYoung had a two-run triple, Hainy an RBI double, and Camden Osborn a run-producing single in the ninth.

Bennett Osborn, Brent Osborn, Cooper Hainy, Nathan Hainy, and Owen Osborn each had two hits for DQ. DeYoung drove in three, while Bennett Osborn, Gall, and Nathan Hainy each had two RBI.

Gall pitched seven strong innings, striking out five batters and scattering three hits.
