MILBANK – Redfield was on the opposite ends of the spectrum in two American Legion baseball games at the Milbank Tournament on Saturday. Redfield defeated Sisseton 12-4 and lost to Castlewood 20-9.
Redfield scored in every inning but one en route to its five-inning victory over Sisseton, including four runs in third, and three runs in both the fourth and fifth frames.
Elijah Morrissette and Micah Zastrow each had RBI hits in the first and third innings. Redfield finished with nine hits, seven stolen bases and took advantage of 11 walks in the contest.
Redfield trailed just 6-4 after four innings against Castlewood before the Warriors took control with a closing flurry, which included a nine-run seventh inning.
Ted Smith, Gavin Maag and Jyler Tharaldsen each drove in runs in the frame, which also included three bases-loaded walks.
Smith and Maag each finished with three hits for Castlewood, which had 17 hits in all.
Noah Johnson and Elijah Morrissette each had two hits and drove in a pair for Redfield, which will face Milbank in the third place game at 1 this afternoon.
