NORTHVILLE – Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern scored six runs in the third inning to help fuel an 8-1 victory over Faulkton in American Legion baseball action Tuesday night.

The hosts jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run single by Ashton Remily, and then broke the game open in the third frame.

The scoring started when Quintin Fischbach doubled in Devon Fischbach in a close play at the plate. Remily and Dawson Ward then provided two-run doubles, another run scored on a ground out, and Logan Fischbach eventually capped the scoring on an RBI single.

Remily held Faulkton to three hits in the contest, one a double by Layne Cotton. Remily, who finished with a pair of strikeouts, threw just 71 pitches in the complete-game performance.

Faulkton scored its lone run in the fifth inning without the aid of a hit. A hit batter, two wild pitches and a ground out produced the run.
