Aberdeen Circus picks up amateur win over Groton

Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar scored in six of its eight innings on the way to a 9-2 victory over Groton Locke Electric in Amateur baseball action Wednesday night at Fossum Field.

Circus scored once in the first, twice in the second, three times in the third, and added solo runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings.

Michael Babcock drove in a run in the first, Wolf’don Thorson plated two with a triple in the second inning, and Ryan Ellingson knocked in a pair in the third.

Circus received sacrifice flys from Tyler Oliver in the sixth and Kelly Coates in the eighth.

Corey Harrell, Coates, and Ellingson each finished with a pair of hits for Aberdeen. Thorson and Ellingson each drove in two.

Cole Simon had an RBI hit for Groton in the second inning, and the visitors scored a run on a groundout in the eighth. Spencer Locke topped the visitors with two hits, including a double.
