Early runs lift W-I-N past Hamlin-Castlewood

CASTLEWOOD – Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern scored four early runs and never trailed on the way to a 7-3 win over Hamlin-Castlewood in American Legion baseball action on Saturday.

Alec Mikkelson had an RBI single in the first inning, before W-I-N scored three runs in the second on Xavier Kadlec’s run-scoring single, and Quintin Fischbach’s two-run double.

The two squads traded three runs after that for the final margin of difference.

Samuel Vetter and Chays Mansfield drove in runs for Warner-Ipswich-Northwestern, while Riggs Prouty and Weston Grantham had RBI singles for Hamlin-Castlewood.

Vetter finished with three hits to top W-I-N.
