Groton drops home contest to Lisbon

GROTON – Lisbon scored all 15 of its runs in three different innings on the way to a 15-4 win over Groton in American Legion baseball action Wednesday night.

The North Dakota squad jumped in front with seven runs in the top of the second inning. When Groton responded with four runs in the bottom half of the frame, Lisbon tacked on three more runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth to evoke the 10-run rule.

Brandt Levos and Blaize Reinke had two-run extra-base hits in the second for Lisbon, Cameron Opp produced a two-run double in the fourth, and Opp added another two-run double in the fifth.

Brevin Fliehs and Dillon Abeln each had bases-loaded walks for Groton in the second, before Bradin Althoff delivered a two-run single.

Opp had three hits and drove in four for Lisbon, while Reinke had two hits and knocked in three.

Althoff finished with three hits and two RBI for Groton. Gavin Englund contributed two hits.
