ALEXANDRIA – Lake Norden-Badger advanced in the winner’s bracket of the Region 5B American Legion baseball tournament after picking up two victories on Tuesday. LN-B defeated Redfield 15-1 in the opening round before grabbing a 7-3 win over Humboldt-Hartford.

Lake Norden-Badger scored a dozen runs in the third inning of its win over Redfield. LN-B had eight of its 11 hits in the frame, which included a two-run triple and an RBI single from Dawson Noem, a pair of RBI singles from Lane Twedt, an RBI single and RBI double from Cristhian Rodriguez, a two-run single from Kadyn Fast, and a two-run triple from George Jensen.

Redfield’s lone score came in on Noah Johnson’s RBI single.

Noem, Jensen, Tvedt, Rodriguez, and Turner Stevenson each had two hits in the victory. Noem and Jensen each finished with four RBI, while Tvedt contributed three.

Elijah Morrissette had two hits to top Redfield, which takes on Alexandria in a loser’s bracket contest this evening.

Lake Norden-Badger scored all seven of its runs in two innings against Humboldt-Hartford. Jensen belted a grand-slam in the fifth inning, and Stevenson, Fast, and Kamden Keszler each drove in runs in the seventh.

Noem struck out five batters and allowed just two hits in four innings on the mound.

Lake Norden-Badger faces Salem-McCook-Canova in a winner’s bracket game tonight.
