Life is a bit crowded at the top following the opening day of the 33rd annual Western Pro-Am Golf Tournament Friday at Moccasin Creek Country Club.

Jack Lundin of Sioux Falls stands alone in sole possession of the lead, but he has plenty of company.

Lundin shot a blistering eight-under par 64 to take a three-stroke lead. There are four golfers tied for second just three shots back, and another four golfers tied for sixth just four strokes off the pace.

The foursome currently tied for second with rounds of 67 includes Ben Sigel of Deephaven, Minn., Caleb Van Arragon of Blaine, Minn., Brad Marek of Berkely, Calif., and Brady Calkins of Chehalis, Wash.

The quartet that is tied for sixth following rounds of 68 features Zach Smith of Phoenix, Ariz., Jacob Lestishen of Broomfield, Colo., Will Grevlos of Sioux Falls, and Jonah Dohrer of Aberdeen.

In the professional division alone, there were more than 25 golfers who shot under par during the opening round of the tournament.

Play continues today and Sunday, with the championship flight leaders teeing off on Sunday afternoon.
