CHAMBERLAIN – Chamberlain blanked Redfield 5-0, before the visitors came back and grabbed a 6-5 win in the second contest in American Legion baseball action on Sunday afternoon.

Dakota Munger allowed just a lead-off single to Hunter Binger in the top of third inning and struck out eight batters in the opener. Munger helped himself with an RBI double in the bottom of the first for the only run Chamberlain would need. The hosts put up four more runs in the third on RBI hits from Cannon Speer and Conway Collins.

Redfield jumped in front in the nightcap with two runs in the top of the first on a run-producing double from Micah Zastrow, who then scored on Kevin Weller’s RBI single.

Chamberlain tied the score in the bottom half of the frame, before Redfield took another lead in the fourth on a ground out. Again Chamberlain responded in the bottom of the inning to re-tie the contest.

Redfield scored three times in the top of the sixth, one run scoring on an error and the other two coming in on RBI hits from Jaxson Ethridge and Chase Odland. Chamberlain had one more comeback left, scoring twice in the bottom of the frame, but stranded runners on second and third when the game ended on a strikeout.

Ethridge finished with a pair of RBI for Redfield.
