REDFIELD – Unbeaten Redfield Dairy Queen started its postseason the same way it played all year on the way to a 9-4 win over the Faulkton Hitmen on Sunday.
Fourth-rated Class B DQ, 18-0 on the season, had 10 hits, took advantage of seven walks, stole eight bases, and led for the majority of the contest.
After Blaze Herdman had given Faulkton a one-run lead in the top of the first, Redfield scored four straight runs.
Peyton Osborn, who had three extra-base hits in the contest, had an RBI double in the first, and Cooper Hainy had run-producing singles in the first and the third.
After the Hitmen scored a single run in the fifth on Gunner Brueggeman’s single, DQ tacked on four more runs in the sixth to take control. Osborn had a two-run double. He later led off the eighth with a solo home run.
Osborn finished with three hits, four RBI, three runs, and two stolen bases, while Hainy had three hits, two RBI, and three stolen bases. Bennett Osborn contributed two hits.
