Redfield strikes early in win over Webster

WEBSTER – Redfield exploded for nine runs in the top of the first inning on the way to a 15-5 win over Webster in American Legion baseball Thursday night.

Micah Zastrow had a pair of RBI singles in the frame, while Kevin Weller drove in a pair of runs with a single.

Redfield would go on to scored two runs in each of the next three innings as well to open a 14-run advantage. Hunter Binger drove in runs with a pair of singles, while Zastrow and Ethan Falk also had RBI hits.

Webster finished the contest by scoring four runs in the bottom of the fifth. Devin Snaza drove in a pair with a double, and Ian Lesnar drove in one with a double.

Weller, Zastrow, and Keagan Hansen each had two hits for Redfield, while Snaza had two for Webster.

Weller and Elijah Morrissette each struck out six batters, as a trio of Redfield pitchers combined for 14 ks in all.
