Surge propels Lake Norden past Aberdeen Circus

LAKE NORDEN - The eighth-rated Class B Lake Norden Lakers scored nine unanswered runs to pull away from Aberdeen Circus en route to an 11-5 Amateur baseball win on Sunday. Dalton Cox doubled in a pair of runs to give Circus the lead in the top of the second inning, before Trevor Thue hit a two-run home run to tie the score. Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the third, the Lakers scored three times, and then tacked on six more runs in the fourth frame to take control. Kale Stevenson had a two-run home run and Thue added a two-run single to highlight the fourth. Circus added two runs in the fifth on RBI singles from Michael Babcock and Tyler Oliver, but was unable to inch any closer. Cox and Kelly Coates each had two hits to pace the Aberdeen attack.
