Area baseball players to compete in all-star games

Nearly a dozen area players will be competing in the South Dakota Baseball Coaches Association American Legion All-Star Baseball Games Monday in Canova. Two seven-inning games will take place starting at noon.

The players were nominated by their coaches and divided into two squads.

Area players on the Black Team roster are: Blaze Herdman of Faulkton-Highmore, Colby Dunker of Groton, and Cristhian Rodriguez and Ryker Warrington of Lake Norden-Badger.

Area players on the Red Team roster are: Layne Cotton of Faulkton-Highmore, Bradin Althoff and Dillon Abeln of Groton, Kevin Weller and Elijah Morrissette of Redfield, and George Jensen and Tyson Stevenson of Lake Norden-Badger.

Other members of the Black Team include: Dru Boots and Aiden Voyles of Big Stone City, Jackson Remmers of Salem-Montrose-Canova, CJ Smith and Sutton Williams of Dell Rapids, Sandler Weikamp and Rayden Haak of Chamberlain, Cain Tobin of Mount Vernon-Plankinton-Corsica-Stickney, Alex Dietrich, Hayden Leighty, Philip Bentz of Rapid City Post 22, Ty Trometer and Kayden Moore of Elk Point-Jefferson, Tanner Dyk and Parker Bailey of Platte-Geddes, Gannon Thomas and Sawyer Tietjen of Gregory, and Evan Scharberg, Marion-Freeman.

Other members of the Red Team include: Carter Brown and Isaiah Tandoh of Big Stone City, Nolan Wahlfeldt of Belle Fourche, Owen Alley and Jackson Grady of Salem-Montrose-Canova, Treyse Eastman and Mason Stubbe of Dell Rapids, Dakota Munger and Sawyer Donovan of Chamberlain, Evan Bultsma and Daniel Laufman of Mount Vernon-Plankinton-Corsica-Stickney, Lee Neugebauer and Hayden Holec of Rapid City Post 22, Caden Oberbroekling and Joey Foxley of Platte-Geddes, and Kade Braun of Gregory.
