VERMILLION – Olivia Braun added to her golf resume Wednesday, winning the girls’ 16-18 division South Dakota Golf Association Junior Championship at The Bluffs Golf Course. Braun, who has won multiple Sanford and Junior Tour events this summer, topped the field by 11 strokes.
Braun fired a third round score of 73, the best among the field on the final day. She finished with a 54-hole total of 219. Mitchell’s Allison Meyerink finished second with a 230. Jayce Pugh was just two strokes back in third with a 232, following a round of 74. Watertown’s Gabi Olson, who had a final round 74, finished fourth.

Riley Christensen of Sioux Falls and Taten Mauney of Hartford finished in a tie in the boys’ 16-18 division, each with identical 54-hole totals of 212, before Christensen won the championship on the fifth playoff hole.
Watertown’s Brynn Roehrich, who golfs for Clark-Willow Lake, finished second in the girls’ 14-15 division.

Braun and Pugh are both scheduled to compete in the Sanford Futures event Monday and Tuesday. Braun has won that tournament the past two years and will be looking for her third straight title.
