HURON – Aberdeen Central finished 10th and Aberdeen Roncalli was 11th at the Huron Invitational Thursday afternoon at Broadland Creek Country Club.

The Golden Eagles were led by top-20 finisher Carter Blanchard, while the Cavaliers got a top-30 finish from Lucas Daggett.

Blanchard’s round of 77 tied with five others for the 20th best score, while teammate Kalen Larson joined Daggett in a nine-way tie for 30th place with a 79.

Roncalli’s Jesse Hernandez was one shot back with an 80.

“Not the round we were hoping for,” said Roncalli coach Jon Murdy. “Hopefully we can rebound from it on Tuesday during the Hub City.”

Roncalli finished with a team score of 329 in the Class AA-dominated field. Finn Anderson (82) and Gannon May (88) rounded out the Cavaliers’ scoring contingent.

The 11th place finish comes on the heels of Roncalli’s runner-up finish at the Northeast Conference Championships on Tuesday.

Central, which also got an 83 from Jackson Ravellette and an 85 from Ben Phillips, came in with a 324.

Both squads will resume play on Tuesday at the Hub City Invitational at Moccasin Creek Country Club.
