RAPID CITY – Aberdeen Central made a pair of first-half goals stand up in the second half as the Golden Eagles claimed a 2-1 non-conference boys’ soccer road win over Rapid City Central Friday night.

Tyler Bain put Aberdeen Central on the board quickly with a goal in the second minute of action. The Golden Eagles tacked on an own goal later in the half and went into the break leading by two.

“We played a really good first half,” said Aberdeen coach Lance Mohr. “Didn’t do a great job of finishing the game in the second half.”

Rapid City Central’s goal came on a penalty kick with about 20 minutes remaining in the game, but the Golden Eagles were able to withstand the Cobblers’ efforts in the waning minutes of action.
