RAPID CITY – Aberdeen Central made a pair of first-half goals stand up in the second half as the Golden Eagles claimed a 2-1 non-conference boys’ soccer road win over Rapid City Central Friday night. Tyler Bain put Aberdeen Central on the board quickly with a goal in the second minute of action. The Golden Eagles tacked on an own goal later in the half and went into the break leading by two. “We played a really good first half,” said Aberdeen coach Lance Mohr. “Didn’t do a great job of finishing the game in the second half.” Rapid City Central’s goal came on a penalty kick with about 20 minutes remaining in the game, but the Golden Eagles were able to withstand the Cobblers’ efforts in the waning minutes of action. With the win, Aberdeen Central remained unbeaten, improving to 4-0-1 on the season. The Golden Eagles will face Rapid City Stevens today.
