Central tennis team sweeps Washington, pushes Lincoln

SIOUX FALLS - Aberdeen Central swept Sioux Falls Roosevelt 9-0 on Saturday, but is was an 8-1 loss to Sioux Falls Lincoln that was probably more noteworthy for the Golden Eagles. The margin of difference against one of the perennial Class AA tennis powers was not indicative of how close the dual was. "It’s a good 1-8 loss, I guess," said Central coach John Vogel. "I don’t know if there is such a thing." The Eagles pushed the Patriots in most of the matches, losing three super tiebreakers and another regular tiebreaker along the way, and also winning a match in a super breaker. "This has been a tough year for breakers," Vogel said. "The girls were really excited about how we played." Vogel noted that the four super breakers in singles took place almost simultaneously. Avery Tennant won her match at flight two singles 11-9 in the super. Vogel noted that Tennant had been battling all weekend, so she deserved win that match. "It was almost fitting for her to be
