Circus pulls away from Diamondbacks for State A win

BROOKINGS – Aberdeen Circus Sports Bar scored four runs in the seventh inning to break open a tight game and secure a 6-2 win over the Rapid City Diamondbacks during the State A Amateur Baseball Tournament Saturday night.

Casey Vining had an RBI single in the first inning, and Tyler Oliver drove in a run in the third to give Circus a 2-1 lead. The scored remained that way before Aberdeen took control in the seventh.

After a passed ball led to one run, Easton Millar delivered a two-run triple before scoring on a wild pitch to push the margin to 6-1.

Aberdeen’s Chad Ellingson scattered nine hits over nine innings, and struck out 13 batters on the evening.

Oliver topped Circus with a pair of hits.

Aberdeen meets the Renner Monarchs at 1:30 this afternoon.
