Groton is the top-rated team in Class A girls, while Aberdeen Central is rated second in Class AA girls in the South Dakota High School Soccer Coaches Association pre-season poll.

Groton finished runner-up last season, while Central fell in the semifinals.

Both the Central boys and Groton boys are receiving votes in the initial poll.

Central opens its season today at Pierre, while Groton opens its season Saturday when it hosts Sioux Falls Christian.
