MITCHELL – Mitchell Price scattered three hits, struck out 10 batters, and pitched a complete game as Kimball-White Lake stopped the Northville Merchants 7-1 in the opening round of the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament Friday night.

Northville scored its only run in the top of the third inning to tie the score at 1-1. Ben Fischbach walked, moved around the bases on a passed ball and a ground out, and scored on a single by Devon Fischbach.

However, that was all the Merchants could manage on offense. Meanwhile, K-WL scored three two-out runs in the fourth inning thanks in part to back-to-back doubles from Carter Lenz and Trent Wookey, and then added solo runs in the fifth, sixth, and eighth innings.

Wookey had three hits to lead Kimball-White Lake, which will meet Canova in the next round at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Ty Sieber had a double for the Merchants, and Greg Heyne had the team’s other hit.
