MITCHELL – Dell Rapids PBR racked up 16 hits on the way to a 13-3 win over the Milbank Firechiefs during the State B Amateur Baseball Tournament Tuesday night.

Dell Rapids set the tone for the contest with five runs in the second inning, highlighted by a two-run home from Heith Williams, the only extra-base hit in the game.

The Firechiefs closed the gap with three unearned runs in the top of the sixth inning, all coming with two outs. Two runs scored on errors and another on a wild pitch. Milbank had three of its four total hits in the frame.

However, Dell Rapids got one of those runs back in the bottom of the sixth, then scored five more times in the seventh and twice in the eighth to evoke the 10-run rule.

Brayden Pankonen led the victory collecting four hits, knocking in three runs, and scoring four times. Drew Sweeter finished with three hits and three RBI, and Williams contributed a pair of hits and drove in four.

Milbank received hits from Dom Boerger, Brady Krause, Tom Boerger, and Kaden Krause.
