MADISON – Aberdeen Central swept through a pair of non-conference girls’ tennis matches Tuesday afternoon, dropping just two individual matches all day en route to nearly identical 8-1 victories over both Vermillion and Madison.

The Golden Eagles lost just one singles match in each decision. That loss came in the sixth flight against Vermillion and in the third flight against Madison.

Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles proved to be strong at the top, as Julia Knie won both of her singles matches by 10-0 counts.

The matches concluded a long run of play on the road for the Golden Eagles, who now begin a two-week span of home matches starting Monday when Central plays host to St. Thomas More. That contest begins at 2 p.m. at the Holgate courts. Central then caps off the week by hosting the annual Elliott Extravaganza.
