RAPID CITY – Aberdeen Central came away with a weekend split after falling 2-0 to Rapid City Stevens in non-conference boys’ soccer action Saturday afternoon. The game featured a matchup of unbeaten squads.

The Golden Eagles gave up an early own goal to go down 1-0, before Stevens tacked on an insurance goal late in the contest for the final margin.

Rapid City Stevens improved to 5-0-1 on the campaign.

The loss was the first of the season for the Golden Eagles, who were 4-0-1 coming into the game.

“The boys played hard,” said Central coach Lance Mohr.

The Golden Eagles return home Tuesday to host Huron at 6 p.m. in an Eastern South Dakota Conference matchup at the Brownell Activities Complex.
