WAUBAY – One day after a marathon victory over Aberdeen Roncalli, the Aberdeen Christian volleyball program took care of business in straight sets Tuesday night, defeating Waubay-Summit by set scores of 25-23, 25-15 and 25-15 in a non-conference match.

The Knights, who played multiple matches over the weekend at a tournament before Monday’s adrenaline-filled match, were dealing with a bit of fatigue, said Christian coach Sara Powell.

“The girls were definitely tired after (Monday’s) match, but were still able to come up with some good hits and blocks,” Powell said.

Jolie Fogarty set the tone at the net, putting down 10 kills. Payton Skarin followed with six kills, and Arianna Johnson added five.

Sawyer Schwan also did some damage at the service line, recording seven aces to go along with 27 set assists. Alexis Isakson patrolled the back line with 27 digs.

The Knights, 10-7 on the season, will take a bit of a breather before resuming play Saturday at the James Valley Christian tournament in Huron.

“Thankful for a three-day game break,” Powell said.
