Central boys finish 12th at State AA golf tourney

WATERTOWN – Aberdeen Central wrapped up its season with a 12th place finish during the Class AA State Golf Tournament at Cattail Crossing on Tuesday.

Watertown edged Pierre by a single stroke to win the team championship. Watertown’s Ty Lenards won a playoff hole against Derek Anderson of Tea Area to win the individual title. Both golfers finished with 36-hole totals of 136.

The Golden Eagles were led by senior Carter Blanchard, who finished his career with a round of 78 on Tuesday for a two-day total of 157 and tied for 37th. Cole Brust and Jackson Ravellette both tied for 41st after 36-hole scores of 158.

Other Central golfers had Kalen Larson tied for 72nd with a 169, Ben Phillips tied for 85th with a 172, and Kyler Senger tied for 92nd with a 175.
