Ipswich closes strong to record win over Knights

IPSWICH – After splitting the opening two sets of the match, the Ipswich Tigers turned back Aberdeen Christian in four sets Tuesday night, claiming a 25-20, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22 victory in Lake Region Conference volleyball action. The two teams found every point to be well-earned throughout the contested match. To wit, the Knights got a 53-dig effort from Alexis Isakson on the back line. Isakson just set a school record for digs in a single match on Monday with 59. “Lots of great volleyball tonight,” said Christian coach Sara Powell. “The girls worked hard for every point.” Ipswich’s offensive efforts were led by Kaylin Onken’s 14 kills and Marley Guthmiller’s 13. Guthmiller also had four aces, and Brianna Geditz added five more, as the Tigers compiled 13 total aces at the service line. While Isakson did her level best to keep the Tigers at bay, it was Jolie Fogarty leading the way offensively for the Knights. Fogarty finished with 11 kills, followed by Payto
