WILMOT – Aberdeen Christian filled up the stat sheet in a hurry with a straight sets sweep over Wilmot Tuesday night on the road. The Knights featured balanced and aggressive play en route to a 25-9, 25-20, 25-9 non-conference volleyball victory.
Christian’s aggressiveness was perhaps most evident at the service line, where the Knights racked up more than 10 aces as a team. Alexis Isakson led the way with four, followed by Payton Skarin with three and Jolie Fogarty and Sawyer Schwan with two each.
“The first and third sets, we really came out attacking and limiting our errors,” said Christian coach Sara Powell. “I love that I can have any one of the girls mix up serves or have any of the girls at the net get some big kills. It’s fun to have so many go-to girls.”
Ari Johnson was one of those driving forces at the net, finishing with 10 kills and three blocks. Fogarty also finished with 10 kills and 10 digs, while Skarin notched six kills and another 10 digs. Schwan handed out 21 set assists on the night.
“The second set we had several errors, but our offense out-weighed those tonight,” Powell said.
Christian will host Faulkton in the first of its two remaining home matches. That contest is set for Thursday at the Christian School Gym.
